    Notes:

    “Stu Stevens: Stories in Song
Stu Stevens is a new name to many of you-please allow me to introduce him. Stu, to me, has become a friend. He is also an artist I hold in the highest esteem as talent of true individuality. A singer whose range of three octaves, fine control, warmth and easy style adds a new dimension to contemporary country music. Stu Stevens is a story teller. You may not guess from listening to this record that he is also English.

Historically, the origins of much of the best of American country music lie in the folk songs and ballads of Britain, when wandering minstrels sang their romantic tales of Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. Here, history has swung full circle in that Stu Stevens of Nottingham, England, with that musical ancestry behind him, finds immediate affinity with American country music and musicians of today.

Such is the versatility of Stu Stevens that the songs in this album have one common element: strong stories that will grab your interest. These stories have been set in fine orchestral arrangements by Tom Parker, fully complemented by the work of Young Blood Records producer, Miki Dallon.

Welcome, then, to a new artist of international stature. Listen, and I’m sure your reaction will be as enthusiastic as mine. Good wishes, (signature) Johnny Moran, British Radio Personality”
